The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was on his India tour and has met the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on 23rd Feb 2018. Six agreements were signed between the nations to promote trade and fight terrorism.
Justin Trudeau was recently on a week long Official Tour to India and he met with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. The leaders took this meeting as an opportunity to sign six agreements that would help facilitate trade between the two nations. India believes that Canada is a huge energy supplier and can help them with the same. Mr. Modi also said that India will seek Canada’s co-operation on major issues like terrorism on its soil and will work hard to fight against it. India’s foreign minister Ms. Sushma Swaraj also met Mr. Trudeau and sought co-operation from the Canada, where a big chunk of population is of Indian origin. Apart from the official meetings, the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau along with his complete family visited places in india and that too the whole family wearing traditional Indian dresses.
This meeting will definitely go down as one of the best meetings between the nations for many reasons. Mr. Trudeau is travelling with his family and is learning about Indian culture also. If the signed agreements can be executed, it will be a big victory for both the nations.
