Upset in Spanish Cup as Barca Loses in the Final

It was a sad day for Barca fans as their football club lost to Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup. What hurt them the most was a red card for their star player, Lionel Messi.

This was the final match of the Spanish Super Cup which was won by Athletic Bilbao by 3-2. Lionel Messi was at the centre stage but things went horribly wrong for him after he was removed from the field because of a red card penalty. Without him, his team couldn't secure the victory and his 753rd appearance for the club didn't went as planned. Barca FC has won this tournament thirteen times already. Antoine Griezmann was the scorer for Barca in Messi's absence but Oscar de Marcos and Villalibre scored goals in the final minute to seize victory from Barca. Messi will be banned for next four appearance.

It's unfortunate that Barca FC is so much reliant on Messi. This is one of the disadvantages of having a star player in your team. Besides, last few months haven't been that good for the club because of a strained relation between Messi and the club's management. With this loss, a lot might change for the club and maybe for Messi also.
