A team of four US athletes have created a history in the sports of 4X800 meter relay. They finished the race in just 8 minutes and 5.89 seconds. They achieved this feat during the 111 Millrose games being played at New York City in the United States of America.
A 4x800 relay race is a special kind of race where a team of four players participate together to finish the race. Each player has to run a distance of 800 meters and the team finishing the race first wins. The earlier record for the fastest 4x800 relay was held by the Russian team (8:06:50 mins) and was achieved in the year 2011. This team comprised of Ajee Wilson, Crishuna Williams, Raevyn Rogers and Charlene Lipsey. After the race was over, Wilson was interviewed who said that they had discussed the plan to break the work record and she was very happy that they achieved it.
So good was the performance that by the time, last sprinter was running, spectators had stopped thinking about their victory because they had already achieved it. All that was left was to see if they can break the record or not, which they eventually did. Think about it – if you push to achieve the best, glory will follow automatically.
