The tech of sandfly White has been subdued to a great extent by the invention of vaccine. Researchers from the University of New York have finally discovered a vaccine that can cure Leishmaniasis.
Leishmaniasis is a disease caused by the bite of sandflies that can cause internal and skin problems in human beings. A study conducted by the University of New York has found a new strain of this virus that can be formed as a basis for developing a new vaccine. As of now, it is believed that around more than 1 billion people who are at the risk of being infected by this disease and it is already on the rise in more than 98 nations. The development of this vaccine is being directed in the same direction that was followed for the development of vaccines for COVID-19 and typhoid. There is a good possibility that rounds of clinical trials will now start and within years to come, will have a vaccine in our hands. Unfortunately, there are no adequate treatment available for the cure of this disease because of which 20 to 30,000 people are dying every year.
Diseases all over the world require cure and any development towards advent of a vaccine is welcome news. Coronavirus has open opportunities for scientists to find treatment for other diseases as well. Hopefully, same method can be emulated in fighting other incurable virus is as well.
